Assembling the Dragon’s Body

Now that you have prepared the paper for your dragon puppet, it’s time to assemble the body. Begin by connecting the folded paper to form the dragon’s body. The folds should allow the dragon’s body to move fluidly and mimic the movement of a real dragon.

Next, add limbs and features to the dragon. Depending on the size of your dragon puppet, you can add legs, arms, and claws. You can also add a belly or chest to give the dragon more depth and dimension.

Once you have added the limbs and features, it’s time to secure the dragon’s structure with glue or tape. Use a strong adhesive to ensure that the dragon’s body stays intact and secure for hours of playtime.

Creating the Dragon’s Head

The dragon’s head is an essential part of the puppet, as it’s what gives the dragon its character and personality. Begin by folding and cutting the paper to create the shape of the head. You can make the head as detailed or simple as you’d like, depending on your skill level and the time you have available.

Next, add details to the dragon’s face, such as eyes, mouth, nostrils, and even horns or ears. These details can be drawn on with markers or colored pencils, or you can cut them out of additional pieces of paper and glue them onto the head.

Finally, attach the head to the body using glue or tape. Be sure to secure it well, so the head doesn’t come loose during playtime. With the head attached, your dragon puppet is starting to take shape, and you can move on to creating the wings and tail.

Making the Dragon’s Wings and Tail

The wings and tail are essential parts of the paper dragon puppet. They add character to the puppet and make it look more realistic. To make the wings and tail, you need to use a separate sheet of paper.

To create the wings, fold a square piece of paper diagonally to form a triangle. Then fold the triangle in half to form a smaller triangle. Fold the top layer of the smaller triangle upwards to form the wingtip. Repeat the same process on the other side to get the second wing. Once you have both wings, attach them to the body of the dragon using glue or tape.

To make the tail, start with a rectangular piece of paper. Fold it in half to form a square. Then fold the square diagonally to form a triangle. Fold the triangle in half to form a smaller triangle. Fold the two flaps of the smaller triangle upwards to form the tail. Attach the tail to the body of the dragon using glue or tape.

Once you have attached the wings and tail to the body of the dragon, you can add details to them. You can draw scales or patterns on the wings and tail using markers or paint. This will make the dragon look more realistic and attractive.

Finishing Touches

After you have completed the paper dragon puppet, you can add some finishing touches to make it look even better. You can decorate the puppet using paint, markers, or any other art supplies you have. You can color the body of the dragon, add patterns or designs to the wings and tail, and draw eyes and a mouth on the head.

If you want to make the puppet more interesting, you can add some additional features to it. For example, you can create a flame out of colored tissue paper to attach to the dragon’s mouth, giving it the appearance of breathing fire. You can also add some glitter or sequins to the puppet to make it sparkle.

Finally, to ensure that your paper dragon puppet lasts longer, you can use some tips for making it more durable. You can use thicker paper to make the puppet sturdier, or you can reinforce the puppet’s joints with tape to prevent them from tearing. You can also store the puppet in a safe place when not in use, so it does not get damaged. By following these tips, you can enjoy your paper dragon puppet for a longer time.
