Setting Up the Game

Before you start playing paper football, you need to create a football field. You can use any flat surface such as a desk or table. First, fold a piece of paper into a triangle shape and cut off the excess to create a square. Then, fold the square in half diagonally, and then fold it in half diagonally again to create a smaller triangle. This triangle will be your football.

To create the football field, unfold another piece of paper and place it on the table. Then, fold the paper in half lengthwise and unfold it. Next, fold each corner of the paper to the center crease to create a square. Unfold the paper and fold each corner diagonally towards the center of the square. Finally, fold the paper in half vertically to create a rectangle and unfold it. You should now have a football field with four triangles in the corners.

Position the goalposts at the opposite ends of the football field. You can use any small objects such as pencils or erasers as the goalposts. Place the goalposts at the edge of the table or desk so that the ball can pass between them.

Rules of the Game

Paper football is a simple game with straightforward rules. The game is played with two players, and the objective is to score points by flicking the paper football into the opponent’s goalpost.

Scoring System: A goal is scored when the paper football passes between the opponent’s goalposts. Each goal counts as one point.

Foul Plays and Penalties: Players are not allowed to touch the paper football with their hands. If a player touches the ball, it results in a penalty, and the other player gets to take a free shot. Also, players cannot move the goalposts during the game. If a player moves the goalposts intentionally, it results in a penalty.

Winning Conditions: The game ends when one player reaches a pre-determined number of points, such as five or ten. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins. If the game ends in a tie, players can choose to play an overtime round to determine the winner.

Basic Techniques

Flicking the paper football is the most crucial skill in playing paper football. The flicking motion is similar to flicking a coin with your fingers. To flick the paper football, hold it between your fingertips and flick it with your index finger. The goal is to make the football slide across the table and into the goalpost on the other side.

There are different types of flicks that you can use to score points. The straight flick is the most basic technique where you flick the football straight towards the goalpost. The curve flick is another technique where you flick the football with a slight curve to avoid defenders and aim for a better angle to score points. The bounce flick is another technique where you flick the football with a bounce off the table, making it harder to defend.

To score points, you can use different strategies depending on the situation. One strategy is to aim for the corners of the goalpost as they are harder to defend. Another strategy is to aim for the middle of the goalpost as it is the widest part, making it easier to score a point. You can also use a fake flick to trick your opponent and create an opening to score a point.

Advanced Techniques

To take your paper football skills to the next level, you can learn advanced techniques like curving the football and making it spin. The curve flick is a technique where you flick the paper football with a curve to avoid defenders and aim for a better angle to score points. To curve the football, hold it between your fingertips and flick it with a twisting motion, making it spin in the air and curve towards the goalpost.

Making the paper football spin is another advanced technique that can make it harder for defenders to block your shots. To make the football spin, hold it between your fingertips and flick it with a spinning motion, making it spin in the air and change direction. You can also use a combination of curve and spin to create unpredictable shots and outsmart your opponent.
